Process Service

When you go to court, all parties of the legal action must be notified of the suit that will be presented before a judge. A process server is used to ensure that documents pertaining to the case are delivered to the other parties involved so they know what legal actions they will be dealing with. This is called serving legal documents.

Finding the right person for the job is important as they can not be party to the case and must be over the age of 18. Though you can, it is recommended to not use someone who has a relationship with you outside of being a strictly professional relationship. The reasons vary but in some instances a biased party can sign an affidavit that the other party was served when they may not have been.

Most legal documentation needing served consist of the following:

  • Summons
  • Complaint
  • Subpoena
  • writ
  • any other type of court document with vital information
