MS Recoveries & Investigations was founded in 2003 as a sole proprietorship by Matthew Schultz, a U.S. Marine Corps veteran trained in misdemeanor and felony investigations. While serving, Matthew achieved chaser status, allowing him to escort military personnel to and from institutions and court proceedings—an early foundation of his investigative discipline.
Over two decades later, MS Recoveries & Investigations has grown into one of Idaho’s most respected agencies. In August 2015, the firm became an LLC, further solidifying its professional standing. That same year, the company joined the Private Investigators Association of Idaho (PIAI), expanding its network and resources. Matthew went on to serve as the first Sergeant at Arms in 2021, contributing to rewriting and modernizing the Certified Private Investigator test for the state. Since 2024, he has proudly served as the Vice President of PIAI, continuing to shape the future of the profession.
Matthew’s expertise, combined with his strong research skills and dedication to mentoring, has made him highly respected among his peers. He hosts two internship positions each semester with Boise State University, guiding criminal justice students toward careers in law enforcement and investigations.
MS Recoveries & Investigations specializes in misdemeanor and felony investigations, delivering confidential, results-driven services with an emphasis on integrity and professionalism. The agency has been honored with multiple awards, including recognition as the Best Private Investigation Service in Boise City and Top Investigator in Boise across multiple years.
